SOMALIA: Puntland Parliament passes Anti-Terror Law

Today, the Parliament of the autonomous region of Puntland State (Northeastern Somalia) has approved the first Anti-Terror law in the region.
For days, Puntland government debated about the draft of the new Anti-Terror law which will give the security forces and courts more power to arrest and sentence people accused of terrorism.
On Thursday, the cabinet passed the new law, which includes the establishment of a new Anti-Terrorism court. 
On Tuesday, Puntland’s law makers debated about the new law after passing it unanimously. Some MPs were absent during today’s session, there were only 46 MPs of the total 66 MPs present.
