Somalia: Gunmen kill traditional leader in Kismayo

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Al Shabaab militants on Monday shot dead a traditional leader in Kismayo City.

According to eyewitness the slain traditional leader, Suldan Amer Abdi-Dhuh, was shot dead by two men armed with pistols at a local restaurant near his home in Kismayo. The police is still looking for the killers.

The assassination comes just a day after the Prime minister of Somalia Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed concluded a week-long trip to Kismayo city, the state capital of Jubba administration. The Prime minister was taking part of the latest efforts to mediate between some of the local clans and the Jubba administration led by Ahmed Madobe.
