UK Khat Ban, A Blessing in Disguise For Somalia [VIDEO]

The Khat trade in Somalia is booming, following a ban of it’s’ sale in the UK, in June. As growers try to find new markets, prices in places like Mogadishu have fallen sharply, making the commodity cheaper and more affordable. While Khat is big business in the region and has been grown and sold legally in much of Eastern Africa, these developments point to a significant shift in the market.
