Somalia: Puntland President arrives in Kismayo

Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali and his ministerial delegation arrived in the Southern Port town of Kismayo on Tuesday, which is the base of the Jubaland administration.
The President was warmly welcomed in the airport by his counterpart Ahmed Mohamed Madobe and Kismayo residents.
Speaking to journalists after touching down, Mr Gaas said that during his three-day visit to the city will hold talks with the Jubba administration top officials concerning on boosting ties. Both leaders
Jubaland interim leader Ahmed Madobe praised Puntland for its massive support during its establishment in 2013. He hoped both sides will enhance cooperation on areas of mutual interests.
The current Somali Federal government in Mogadishu opposed the creation of Jubaland state in May 2013, claiming it as unconstitutional. But following talks in neighbouring Ethiopia, the government finally recognized it as state.
