New Dutch ambassador presents credentials to Somalia President
Newly-appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Somalia, Franciscus Albercht Makken presented his Letters of Credence to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud on Saturday.
In a meeting that was held following the ceremony held in Mogadishu Presidential Palace, issues of mutual interest and ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
President Mohamoud, appreciating the Netherland’s assistance to Somalia, hoped that the assistance by the Netherlands particularly in the fields of Youth empowerment and combating illegal fishing in Somalia waters.
Ambassador Makken who is also the Netherlands’ ambassador to neighbouring Kenya, vowed to improve the relations of the two countries and continuation of the support towards the rebuilding and development projects in Somalia.
