Mogadishu — The Federal Electoral Commission of Somalia has released the final list of political organizations that will participate in the upcoming local council elections in the Banadir Region, confirming a total of 20 registered groups.

According to the commission, the registration and submission process for candidate lists has officially closed. The process began with 12 organizations expressing interest, later increased to 18, and ultimately concluded with 20 political organizations formally submitting their candidates for the Mogadishu local council race.
Election officials noted that completing the candidate list marks a significant step in advancing the local electoral process in the capital. The commission is expected to move on to the next phases of election preparation, including verification procedures and final logistical arrangements.
The Mogadishu local council elections are viewed as an important milestone in strengthening local governance and expanding political participation within the Banadir Region.
