Somalia: Puntland President Condemns attack on the Somali Presidential Palace Compound

Gaas_CondolencePuntland President Dr Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has condemned the deadly attack carried by militant group al-Shabab on Friday at the Somali Presidential Palace Compound in Mogadishu.

Mr Ali send his condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the attack in which he specified as ‘’barbaric act of terror’’.

“The resurgence of Al-Shabaab in the South and their movement to the Northern Regions of Somalia is alarming and a concern to all Somalis. Efforts on information sharing and effective coordination domestically and internationally should be doubled,” he said in a Press Statement.

The President urged all Somali people to stand together and fight against the group’s ‘’menace’’.

At least 11 people died today in the attack including the militants who launched it and guards of the Presidential Palace as well Government officials.

International Community has similarly strongly condemned this attack, lauding to continue its support for a stable Somalia.
