Somali Security forces together with the African Union troops have launched massive security operations in the Country’s capital, after a deadly attack was carried on the Presidential Palace Compound.

Militant group al-Shabab claimed the responsibility of the attack in which they killed senior government officials and Soldiers.

Local residents told Horseed Media that the Security forces and AU troops were targeting residential houses to find out any al-Shabab suspects. The Operations took place on Saturday and Sunday.

“This Operations have caused the closure of very important roads that have costed our daily livelihoods,” said a local grocer.

Security officials have not yet commented on the current Operations. But Somali Security Minister Abdihakim Gulled soon said the Government will take steps to beef up the security of the Capital which was worsening for the past two weeks.

The Friday attack on the Presidential Palace compound left at least 17 people dead.
