Somalia: Female Polio Vaccination Worker Killed in Mogadishu

Unknown Gunmen shot to death a female Polio Vaccination worker in the Somali Capital, in a series of assassinations that rocked the city in the past 24-hours.

Witnesses Confirmed to Horseed Media the Polio volunteer vaccinator named, Shariifo, was killed in Wardhigley district on Tuesday.

‘’Three gunmen  shot  her with several bullets and escaped immediately, she died at the scene,’’ said a resident who refused to give his name because of Security reasons.

Security forces arrived at the area minutes later who made search operations, but the Security officers and District commissioner have declined to speak about the incident.

Elsewhere, gunmen killed another unidentified woman who used to run a small coffee shop in the outskirts of Mogadishu.

The main reasons behind the assassination of both women is still yet unknown, and there is no group so far that has claimed.

In the last two days, the security of the capital was tightened and Security forces conducted massive operations after the city was rocked by attacks from the Militant group al-Shabab.
