Somalia Asks Arab World for military SupportSomalia has pledged military support from the Arab countries, as the Somali national army backed by the African Union troops have launched anti al-Shabab Operations recently.

The Coalition troops managed to retake at least five strategic towns in Southern Somalia since last week.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mahad Mohamed Salad pledged for the military support while delivering a speech in the 141st session of the Arab League ministerial council held in Cairo.

He also called the Arab Countries to take part in the efforts of rebuilding the war-ravaged country and strengthen UN-backed government’s army Capacity.

The Somali government has vowed to liberate all the towns still under the control of al-Qaeda-linked militant group al-Shabab within this year.
