Yemen, Somalia to sign MoU to regulate fishing

140614174924-27766-0Yemen and Somalia is to sign a memorandum of understanding to regulate fishing in the Somali territorial waters by Yemeni fishermen, Fisheries Minister of Puntland State of Somalia said on Saturday.

Upon his arrival in Sana’a, Hasan Mahmoud said that he would hold talks with Yemeni official at the Yemeni Ministry of Fisheries on the promotion of the cooperation relations between Yemen and the Puntland State in the fisheries field.

Al-Socotri highly valued all efforts made by the Somali Government and the government of the Puntland State of Somalia to release the Yemeni fishermen held in the state.

In turn, the Somali charge d’affaires underlined the importance of joint cooperation between the two countries in the fish field so as to maintain the fishery resources and exploit them in proper ways.
