Somalia: Puntland President dismisses Mudug Governor

Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali sacked on Tuesday the governor of Mudug province, amid of growing insecurity in the region.
Mr Mohamed Yusuf Tigey, who was holding the position for the last four years was under pressure from the local elders who accused him of ‘’incompetence’’.
President Gaas appointed a new governor in a decree not yet disclosed to the media who will take over the job from the outgoing governor.
The new governor, Abdulkadir Shire Farah, who worked in the Somalia national army at its peak, has been living in Seattle, U.S eversince the collapse of the Central government in 1991.
However, EX-governor of Mudug Mr Tigey welcomed the move of the President and congratulated the newly appointed governor and pledged to work close with him.
