Somalia President in Germany to attend Munich Security ConferenceSomalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud arrived in the German city of Munich to attend an international security conference, Horseed Media reports.
The Munich international security conference is scheduled to kick-off today in Munich City and last for three days.
The participants in the event will focus on the fight against terrorism and counteracting the Islamic State (IS), the crisis in Syria and measures to tackle the increased migration pressure on Europe, matters related to the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration as well as the possibilities for encouraging economic growth and the fight against climate change.
During his stay in Germany, the president will address the Munich security conference to highlight regional and international security and Somalia situation, said a Press statement.
President Mohamoud is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security advisor and other officials.
Somalia has been racked by constant war for more than 20 years – its last functioning national government was toppled in 1991.
