The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received Amb. Hu Changchun, Special Envoy of the People’s Republic of China to the Horn of Africa, at the Villa Somalia Presidential Palace.
The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between Somalia and China, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic ties. Discussions also covered enhanced cooperation on peace, security, and development across the Horn of Africa.
In addition, the two officials explored opportunities to expand economic engagement and promote broader regional collaboration, underscoring the strategic importance of sustained partnership between Mogadishu and Beijing.
The talks reflects ongoing efforts by both nations to build on historical ties while addressing emerging regional challenges and opportunities.
