The Federal Government of Somalia, in cooperation with United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), conducted an airstrike targeting a group of ISIS militants approximately 70 kilometres southeast of Bosaso, in the Bari region of Puntland State.
According to the Somali News Agency (SONNA), the ongoing operation aims to support the Puntland Darwish Forces in eliminating elements of the group, while gathering information on enemy losses.
The Somali government commended its cooperation with the US and international partners to enhance security and combat terrorist groups that threaten the stability of Somalia and the region.
