The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned an attempted drone attack targeting Saudi Arabia, describing the incident as a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

In a statement issued on Monday, Somalia said the drone had been intercepted and destroyed after entering Saudi airspace, calling the act a “serious violation” of the Kingdom’s sovereignty.
The Somali government reaffirmed its “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for measures aimed at protecting the Kingdom’s security, stability and territorial integrity.
“The Federal Republic of Somalia stresses that attacks targeting the security of states and critical infrastructure undermine collective regional stability and risk further escalation in an already fragile region,” the statement said.
Somalia also called for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to preserve regional security, urging all parties to respect international law and avoid actions that could heighten tensions.
The statement comes amid continuing concerns over security and stability across the Middle East, where drone and missile attacks on strategic infrastructure have raised fears of broader regional escalation.
