Senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia gathered in Mogadishu on Friday evening for an executive symposium focused on developments within the country’s justice sector.
The high-level event brought together cabinet ministers, members of both chambers of the Federal Parliament, and the Commander of the Custodial Corps to review recent reforms and strengthen institutional cooperation across Somalia’s judicial system.
The ceremony underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize judicial institutions and reinforce coordination among agencies responsible for legal administration and corrections. Officials described the initiative as part of a broader national strategy aimed at improving governance, strengthening the rule of law, and enhancing public confidence in state institutions.
Central to the discussions were reforms led by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, H.E. Hassan Moalin. According to officials, the ministry has prioritized institutional synchronization, legal standardization, and administrative modernization in an effort to create a more unified and effective justice framework.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of building resilient legal institutions capable of enforcing state laws, safeguarding civil rights, and ensuring consistent legal procedures throughout the country. As part of the program, the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs screened a documentary presentation outlining operational improvements made across the justice sector. The presentation highlighted developments in judicial coordination, correctional management, and procedural efficiency, offering attendees an overview of the government’s expanding institutional capacity.
Officials noted that stronger alignment among judicial and correctional institutions remains essential to maintaining security, promoting accountability, and supporting long-term national stability in Somalia.
