On Wednesday, the terrorist group Al Shabab launched an attack on the area of El Ade in the Hiran region, which was controlled by a group of militias known as ‘Macawisley’ who are supported by the Somali government.

There is still no official information on the damage caused by the conflict in the Hiran region, as the telephone and internet lines have been completely cut off.

On Thursday, Al-Shabaab fighters attacked the towns of Maarsamage and Adokibir in Bahdo district of Galgaduud region and blew up water wells and communication towers.

On June 17, Al-Shabaab attacked the Bahdo district in Galmudug state, and the local people defended themselves by taking up arms. Almost 100 members of Al-Shabaab were killed in that battle.

The Al Shabab group targeted communication centers and water wells in their revenge attacks in Hiran and Galgaduud regions. The people living in the area have already been affected by the drought in Somalia.
