Lower Shabelle, Somalia — The Somali National Armed Forces (SNA), supported by local community defense forces, carried out a security operation in the village of Busley Daud in the Lower Shabelle region, resulting in the neutralization of nine Al-Shabaab militants, officials said.
According to military sources, the operation targeted individuals believed to be responsible for attacks and intimidation against residents in the area. The militants had allegedly been involved in activities that threatened the safety and stability of local communities.
The joint operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts by the Somali government and its partners to weaken the presence of Al-Shabaab in southern Somalia. Security officials reported that the targeted action was carefully planned to disrupt militant activities while minimizing risks to civilians.
Military representatives stated that operations against the extremist group will continue across regions where the group maintains influence. They emphasized that the Somali National Armed Forces, together with local community forces, remain committed to protecting civilians and restoring government authority in areas affected by insurgent activity.
