Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni held a meeting with the leaders and intellectuals of the Sanaag region in Bosaso on Wednesday.
The President of Puntland, His Excellency Said Abdullahi Deni, accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Puntland, His Excellency Abdirisaq Ahmed Said, held a meeting with the delegations from Sanaag and Haylaan Regions led by traditional leaders. The meeting was also attended by the cabinet members representing these regions.
The Puntland government has said it will accelerate security operations and development projects in Sanaag region, one of the largest regions in Puntland State.
The parties discussed strengthening unity, solidarity, and defense of the Puntland State and its regions. Also, the completion of Operation Hilaac in Calmiskaad and preparations for Operation Onkod to eliminate Al-Shabaab terrorists from the Calmadow mountains.
The government leaders listened to the cultural and intellectual community on how to resolve the concerns of the people of these regions in the areas of development and government responsibilities.
The meeting also discussed the acceleration of ongoing development projects in these regions, such as the completion of the Ceeldaahir-Ceerigaabo Road and the implementation of new projects that meet the needs of the region.
