SOMALIA: Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed Appoints New Prime Minister

Somali President, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed appointed Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, a former Somali diplomat, as the next Prime Minister of Somalia.
Currently, Mr. Mohamed Abullahi Mohamed is an educator, who specialises in leadership skills, project management and conflict resolution. Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has MA in political science and is a Somali American.
Mr Mohamed Abdullaahi was born in Mogadishu in 1962, Abdullahi later served as a financial officer in the Somalia embassy the US in 1985 and then obtained a master degree in political science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
He also worked as a senior local government official at Buffalo city as a well as Eric county. In 1994 he was selected Buffalo county housing commissioner where he worked as the finance chairman.
As per the Charter, the new PM will form a Cabinet within a month.
