A Somali journalist has been killed in a car-bomb attack in the Capital, Mogadishu on Saturday morning, officials and colleagues confirm.
The Journalist, Yusuf Abukar Keynan, was killed when a bomb exploded under his car after he entered. The attack took place in a place close to the Presidential Palace.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility of the attack and nothing is clear about what motivated the latest attack.
Yusuf Keynan was the editor of a local radio station in Mogadishu. Colleagues and friends said that he was on his way to work when the explosion occurred.
Police officials said the bomb planted under the front seat set off when Keynan entered the car.
Somalia is one of the most dangerous countries for journalists, International media watchdogs say.
Journalists have expressed outrage at the separate attacks against their colleagues and have demanded from the Federal government ensure journalists’ safety.
