Somalia’s Al-Qaeda-linked militant group has executed four men for allegedly spying for Somali government forces and African Union peacekeepers, Horseed Media reports.
The execution was carried out in the town of Aden Yabal of Middle Shebelle province on Saturday, shortly after abandoning the town which fell to the control of the allied forces.
According to sources around the area, the four men were elders prominent in the village.
The extremist group has conducted a series of public executions and amputations in the areas under its control.
Over the past few months, al-Shabaab has been under pressure as the Somali government forces and AMISOM troops continue to sought their locations route the extremists out of the war-torn country.
