Prime Minister Abe showed his commitment to support the peace and nation building of Somalia by announcing a new package of assistance which amounts to 39.69 million US dollars in total. The assistance package, which will be implemented by 16 international organizations, was formulated according to the three pillars of Japan’s assistancepolicy to Somalia; namely, reinstating delivery of basic social services, strengthening capacity in public security, and vitalizing the economy.
In addition, Prime Minister Abe announced Japan’s decision to resume the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) in Somalia.

The Prime Minister also expressed his determination to continue to support Somalia including its human resource development so that each and every Somali citizen will be benefited.
