Mideeye Political party today condemned the illegal actions of the Puntland government and members of parliament who have claimed to have changed the constitution. Mideeye also expressed concern about the delay in filing the case file that it has submitted to the constitutional court.

In a press release, the Mideye party said “We condemn as illegal, irresponsible and short-sighted, the atrocious action that we have already warned about by the Puntland government and members of parliament who said that they have changed the Constitution,”. “We also declare to the public that the President’s speech on the first of August was a public misrepresentation and a cover-up.”

Mideeye Political party also called on the international community not to be part of an election that is not agreed upon. “We are asking the international community not to be part of it, to spend money on an election that is not agreed upon,”. “We are calling on the dignitaries (traditional elders) of Puntland to put aside their differences and take responsibility for the rescue of Puntland.”

Mideeye also called on the various sections of the Society, the opposition politicians and all the political stakeholders to come together as soon as possible to discuss the political crisis.

The political crisis in Puntland is a serious threat to the stability of the semi-autonomous state. If the election is not held in a free and fair manner, it could lead to violence and instability.

Mideye political party is the largest opposition party in Puntland,
