Bosaso, Somalia (HORSEED MEDIA) – In a significant counterterrorism operation, the Puntland Security Forces (PSF) have apprehended three individuals suspected of being members of the Daesh terrorist group in Bosaso, the capital of Bari region.
According to a report issued by the PSF command, the operation was carefully planned to ensure security in the neighborhoods of Bosaso, where Daesh militants have been threatening and intimidating business centers.
The PSF stated that the operation targeted Daesh militants responsible for intimidation tactics and threats towards businessmen in the city. The three arrested individuals are suspected of being part of the group’s squad tasked with carrying out these unlawful activities.
“We have conducted a planned operation to maintain security in the neighborhoods of Bosaso against the Daesh militants who are threatening and intimidating business centers,” the PSF command said in their report.
The report further stated that investigations will be conducted on the arrested individuals, who are accused of being Daesh terrorists. If their involvement with the anti-peace group is confirmed, the law will be applied accordingly.
This operation comes as part of Puntland’s ongoing efforts to combat the presence and activities of terrorist organizations within its territory. The PSF has vowed to maintain vigilance and take necessary measures to protect the safety and security of its citizens.
Daesh, also known as the Islamic State, has been seeking to establish a foothold in Somalia, exploiting the instability in certain regions.
