At least 13 people were killed in the US airstrike as confirmed by Somali government officials on Sunday.
The US Africa Command has yet to issue an official statement on the airstrike, which is the second in a week.
Officials from the Hirshabele State administration told Horseed Media that the bombing took place in Hiran region, the areas where the al-Shabab militants are located.
The officials, who asked to remain anonymous, said that all the people killed in the airstrike were al-Shabab fighters.
The Federal Government and Hirshabele State forces have been conducting operations in recent days to remove al-Shabab militants from the villages between Mataban and Mahas districts.
