breakingA suicide car bomber rammed a national-intelligence facility in Somalia’s capital on Sunday and gunmen then attacked the building, which is used to hold suspected militants a senior police officer said.

“A suicide car bomb and armed militants entered the national security base,” Ahmed Hussein, a senior police officer, told Reuters, adding the site included underground cells. “Now fighting has died down, there is only little sporadic gunfire.”

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the Islamist militant group al Shabaab has stage several gun and bomb attacks in Mogadishu in recent months.
