Two people were killed in a suicide blast at a restaurant in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday, Witnesses told Horseed Media.
A bomber blew himself up inside the Village restaurant which is close to the President Palace, also a popular chain in the capital.
ββThe suicide bomber came in and took his seat. Immediately we suspected due to his facial expressions and we decided to leave. Soon afterwards we heard an explosion,ββ said a Journalist who was at the restaurant moments before the attacks.
The two people who died in the incident were the suicide bomber and a civilian, while several others were injured who were taken to hospital for treatment.
No one has claimed responsibility for the blasts but suspicion will likely fall on the Islamist militant group al-Shabaab, an al-Qaida affiliate which has carried out a campaign of suicide bombings since African Union forces forced it to withdraw from the city in 2011.
It is the third time the Village restaurant which is popular with government workers and journalists has been targeted in the last three years.
