A senior regional Police officer has been killed in Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland after a bomb placed under his car seat exploded on Sunday, officials said.
The blast occurred while Duran Omar Gelle, Mudug Province Custom duty Chief, was on his way to work in the North-central town of Galkayo.
No group has yet to claim the responsibility of the attack which its kind is very rear to the region.
Regional officials have condemned the attacks and said that there are on-going investigations.
Galkayo has experienced for the past few years numerous explosions and assassinations, which some of them are thought to be carried out by the Radical Islamist group al-Shabaab.
