At least two people were killed Thursday evening and 13 others wounded after a salvo of mortars landed at neigbhourhoods in the Somali capital Mogadishu, Horseed Media reports.
According to sources, the mortars were destined to the Presidential palace, but missed and landed in Hamar weyne district, causing the death of civilians.
Although no one claimed responsibility for the attack, there was similarity between this and a series of previous mortar shells on the areas close to the Presidential Palace claimed by al-Shabaab.
It is unclear where the mortar shells were fired from but security officials have said that they have caught a car that it was used for firing the mortars.
Since the al-Qaeda-linked militant group was pushed out of the capital, it has carried a number of assassinations and suicide attacks in which it targeted government and security officers.
