Somalia’s Puntland State military court on Wednesday sentenced three militants to death while three others were handed life term jail after finding them guilty, officials said.
Awil Ahmed Farah, chairperson of the Puntland State Army Court, said the six were found guilty of belonging to both al-Shabab and Islamic States terrorist groups in Bosaso town today.
He added that these militants were arrested in the latest military operations in the region, saying that the court also conducted other judgments on two soldiers of Puntland’s army.
Puntland State is fighting against al-Shabab and IS militants in the remote areas of Bari region in northern Somalia in the last five years.
