Two Somali army soldiers were severely wounded when a mine exploded at a checkpoint in Hodan district, Mogadishu on Monday, Horseed Media reports.
The explosion also injured three other civilians who are currently recuperating in hospital, according to a spokesman of the local administration Abdifatah Halane.
It is unclear how the landmine was planted in the area.
Extremist group al-Shabaab, which has carried out similar attacks in the past, has claimed the responsibility.
The al-Qaeda-linked militants usually targets key government and security figures in the country, trying to overthrow the international-backed government.
