Internet services have been cut in several towns in southern and central Somalia, reports say.
Residents in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, and other towns in central and south of the country reported that internet services have been unavailable since 10 a.m. today.
No one knows who ordered or carried out the shutdown, but it comes amid political tension in the country after Parliament on Saturday ousted Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre in a surprise vote of no confidence.
President Farmajo immediately accepted the parliament’s move and appointed a caretaker premier, Mahdi Mohamed Guled.
Kheyre’s ouster was criticised by the US Embassy in Somalia and condemned by opposition political parties.
