Somalia’s Prime Minister Unveils Vision for Economic Growth and Sustainable Progress

Mogadishu, Somalia (HORSEED MEDIA) – In a major announcement aimed at charting a new course for the nation’s future, Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre unveiled the highly anticipated National Transformation Plan (NTP) for the years 2025 to 2029. The ambitious initiative carries a long-term vision for the development of Somalia and its people, ushering in a era of hope and tangible change.

Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Barre emphasized that the NTP exemplifies Somalia’s commitment to visible action and real progress. “This plan is based on harnessing the resources of our country and the skills of our people in order to achieve sustainable development,” he stated.

The NTP outlines concrete strategies to invest in key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, livestock, infrastructure development including roads, bridges, ports, airports, and other natural resources. The overarching goal is to promote economic self-sufficiency, job creation, and development opportunities for all Somalis.

“Change cannot be realized if we do not start from within ourselves,” Barre urged, underscoring the importance of collective effort in realizing the plan’s long-term objectives.

Highlighting Somalia’s investment potential, the Prime Minister pointed to the country’s foreign investment laws, debt forgiveness, and recent accession to the East African trade market as factors that have created an enabling environment for economic growth.

The NTP replaces the previous 9th National Development Plan and is spearheaded by the Ministry of Planning. According to officials, the initiative will lead Somalia towards a vision of sustainable development, fostering a highly educated and skilled society that reflects the country’s bright future.

As Somalia embarks on this transformative journey, the unveiling of the National Transformation Plan has sparked renewed hope for a prosperous and self-reliant nation.
