A member of Somalia’s Federal Parliament survived an assassination attempt by gunmen in the capital, Mogadishu, Horseed Media reports.
Unknown gunmen hurled several hand grenades into his home in Hodan district, injuring four of his bodyguards, a security official confirmed to the media.
MP Aden Ibrahim Dhayow, who was in his house at the moment of the attack escaped unhurt, sources confirmed.
No group has claimed the responsibility of the failed bid. Gunmen managed to flee from the scene before security forces arrived.
Since 2012, at least ten legislators have been gunned down in Mogadishu. Most of the assassinations have been claimed by al-Shabaab yet others were politically motivated.
