Somalia Prime Minister meets the UN Secretary-General

The Prime Minister of Somalia Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed who is currently attending the African Union leaders summit in the Equatorial Guinea has held talks with the United Nations Secretary General Ban ki-moon.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed political and security developments in the country.

According to a press statement from the Prime Minister’s office, they also discussed the continued support of the United Nations to Somalia.

Somali Prime Minister hailed the United Nation’s role towards ensuring peace and security in Somalia and the humanitarian assistance.

At the end of the talks, the Secretary General underlined that the United Nations will continue its mission in Somalia despite some of its stuffs and headquarters attacked.
