The motion to impeach Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud has been rejected, Speaker of the Federal Parliament Mohamed Osman Jawari has said.
In a Press statement, the Speaker said that a meeting will be held next month and will be attended by the President, Prime Minister and the members of the Parliament to discuss on the impeachment motion and reach a solution.
‘’We will solve this issue [impeachment motion] through mediation.’’
According to sources, it is believed that the International Community played a big role in throwing out the motion to avoid a political crisis.
Somali legislators have accused the President of rampant corruption, political nepotism and incompetence since he came to power in 2012.
