Humanitarian partners in Somalia have urged the nation to overcome possible negative impacts of future climate change.

Aid agencies have painted a positive image of the country’s humanitarian conditions following good rains last year and sustained humanitarian response from the donor community. But more than four million persons reportedly remain in need, down thirty-four percent from last year when more than six million, half of the country’s total population, were in need of immediate aid assistance.

Experts warn that early actions are required to prevent deterioration in the northern parts of the country after Puntland and Somaliland in northern Somalia recorded below average rainfall during the last rainy season.
