PM Sharmarke condemns attack on African Union base in southern region of Somalia

Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali SharmarkeThe Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia H.E. Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke unreservedly condemns the barbaric attack carried out by the terrorist group Al Shabab on the base of the AMISOM troops Kenya contingent and Somali National Army in El Adde of Gedo region.

“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the families of the gallant soldiers who lost their lives, and to the people and government of Kenya. AMISOM is in Somalia to resurrect stability and help the Somali people and its government in attaining and establishing a secure and harmonic nation.” said Prime Minister Sharmarke.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the cowardly terrorist attack by Al Shabab will not deter nor hamper the government’s astute plan in eliminating and eradicating the remnants of the terrorist group from the whole country.

“Evidently the terrorist group are faced with mounting pressure in their small hideaway pockets which is a result of the well planned military operations carried out by the Somali National Army and the AMISOM troops. Hence Al Shabab are launching desperate last attempts to create instability “ said the Prime Minister in his conclusion.
