Al Shabaab militants have reportedly taken control of Rage-Ceele village in the Middle Shabelle region on Saturday.
Al-Shabab has recently launched a military offensive in the region targeting villages near Rage-Ceele east of Jowhar, the capital of Hirshabelle State.
Local forces in Rage Ceele withdrew from the area after the attack.
Al Shabaab militants were also deployed around the town of Balcad in Middle Shabelle, 36km north of the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu.
