Somali Minister Urges Pirates to be tried in Puntland

Somali trade minister Mr.Abdirashid Mohamed Irro,who held a press Conference today in Mogadishu said that its illegal Somali Pirates who are captured to be taken to foreign countries inorder to face trial.
He Said that there are some parts of the country which are peaceful and no war going on where the pirates can be tried or taken for court.
Mr.Irro,added that pirates could be possibly taken to Puntland where they can be charged also part of the Calm regions in Somalia.and he asked the International Community and world navies to bring the pirates they capture to Puntland.
The United Nations Security Council has unanimously adopted a resolution calling for tougher laws against pirates operating off the coast of Somalia.
The resolution, which was drafted by Russia, calls on U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to present to the council within three months options for a regional or international legal system to deal with piracy.
