Somalia PresidentSomali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has criticised the Kenyan authorities the way they treat Somali Citizens residing in the East Africa nation and detention of a diplomat.

Speaking to Journalists in Mogadishu, President Mohamud said that he is not happy with the way the Kenyan government has treated the Somali refugees.

On the detention of the Somali diplomat in Nairobi, the President said that it violated the privileges of a diplomat and all International Conventions.

He added that there is an on-going review of the circumstances that led to the arrest of the Consular.

The Kenyan government and media have remained silent over the detention of the consular general and Somalia’s step towards recalling its ambassador in Nairobi.

It’s the first time the Somali President talked about the on-going Kenyan crackdown on Somalis in Kenya.

The Consular was arrested briefly last Friday during a security Operation in the Kenyan capital.
