UN special representative for Somalia Augustine Mahiga has called for expeditious assistance to AMISOM troops in order to maintain momentum on the ground.
Speaking at meeting in Kampala Mahiga noted that the limited resources to the AMISOM troops were undermining their effectiveness.
Mahiga calls on African Union Members states to come out and fulfill their pledges towards restoring peace in Somalia.
He says that logistical and financial support is urgently needed to maintain the success achieved by Amisom.
