The 22nd EAC Ordinary Summit
The Summit, whose theme is ‘EAC: Deepening Integration, Widening Cooperation’, will be preceded by a high-level retreat on the EAC Common Market where the East African leaders will take stock of the progress of implementation of the EAC Common Market Protocol.
In 2016, Somalia applied to join the EAC block, in order to facilitate the travels of Somali people, the marketing of their products and the development of the country’s economy. Somalia has renewed its interest in joining the East African Community (EAC).

Welcome our brothers to EAC.
