Somalia’s new prime minister Hamse Abdi Barre is campaigning hard in Mogadishu ahead of a no-confidence vote in the Federal Parliament.
This week, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to present his newly appointed Prime Minister to the Parliament.
Hamse, who has been holding separate meetings with members of parliament from various states in recent days, met last night with former Presidents Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre.
Prime Minister Hamse, who has the support of the Jubbaland administration, hopes to get enough votes, although Somali Federal Parliament members remain widely divided.
