Somali pirates free dry cargo for $5mln

Somali pirates have set free the German dry cargo Susan for a 5-million-dollar ransom.
The vessel with a crew consisting of four Ukrainians and six Filipinos was captured off Oman on April 8th, Reuters reports.
After its release, the dry cargo headed for Djibouti.
Anti-piracy operations off Somalia are part of the EU’s Operation Atalanta and NATO’s Ocean Shield.
Counter piracy operations in the region are conducted with the participation of Russian ships.
