Somali PM meets his Ethiopian Counterpart

Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed who is on a three day official visit in Ethiopia has held discussions with senior officials from the Ethiopian Government.

A high profile government delegation led by the Prime Minister met in Addis Ababa on Friday Ethiopian Premier Hailemariam Desalegn and discussed about the bilateral relations between both countries.

During the talks, they exchanged views on ways of enhancing existing relations between the two countries, mostly on the security sector.

Ethiopian Prime Minister said that his country will continue and strengthen the supports it gives to Somalia to ensure sustained peace and stability.

‘’ We are delighted with Ethiopia’s contribution to the efforts of restoring peace and stability in our Country, the battle against the terrorists will continue until we eradicate all of them from the country,’’ Somali prime minister told reporters after the talks.

In a press release from the Office of Somali Prime Minister, it was stated that both leaders signed an agreement to work closely and cooperate on Security issues and combat any threat from terrorists.

Last month, more than 4,000 Ethiopian troops formally absorbed into the African Union force in Somalia.
