At least eight people died and 25 more were wounded when Somali government forces clashed with Hizbul Islam insurgents near Mogadishu’s Bakara market early Thursday morning, Ambulance Director Ali Muse Sheikh told a Somali journalist.
Fighting broke out after Somali government forces attacked Hizbul Islam bases around Bakara market. Somali government forces captured one Hizbul Islam base in Mogadishu’s Howlwadaag District, said the journalist.
