SOMALIA: Puntland blames the TFG for Supporting SSC movement

On 30 May 2011, Puntland government forces based at the defense line in Tukaraq village in Sool region, west of Garowe, detained a man named Mr. Abdikarim Yasin Mire.
When apprehended, Mr. Mire was driving a Toyota Surf truck and was accompanied by one armed bodyguard. Mr. Mire admitted to Puntland authorities that he is a member of Somaliland forces and that he was travelling from Las-Anod district.
Currently, Mr. Mire who claims to be a colonel is under investigation in Garowe.
In a released Statement Puntland government says it is concerned about what it called anti-establishment militia elements led by Col. Ali Sabarey, and supported by the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), has infiltrated the area between the Puntland defense line at Tukaraq and Las-Anod district.
The Puntland statement added, that the intention of this militia is to stir provocation leading to open conflict between Puntland and Somaliland, aiming to divert Puntland Defense Forces engaged in a war against Al Shabaab terrorists in the Golis Mountains, west of Bossaso.
Puntland Government strongly condemns the anti-establishment elements and their supporters, whose true intention is to support Al Shabaab terrorists by opening another front, said the statement released by the Puntland government.
